The prestigious Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design has selected GRAFT Architects as one of the winners of the 2013 International Architecture Award for their pioneering design of the SOLARKIOSK.
The program, which is one of the most prestigious in the world, honors new architecture projects that achieve a high standard of excellence in design, construction, planning, and sustainability. Sixty new buildings, commercial and institutional developments, and urban planning projects from 20 nations were selected for the International Architecture Awards for 2013.
The elite group of buildings and urban planning projects selected by the jury will be premiered at the 14th International Biennial of Architecture in Buenos Aires from September 19 through October 15, 2013.
The exhibition is entitled ‘The City and the World’ and combines the International Architecture Awards 2013 with The American Architecture Awards 2013.
After Buenos Aires, the exhibition is scheduled to tour in Europe. The opening will be at The European Centre’s Contemporary Space in Athens, Greece. All award winners can be viewed at the Chicago Athenaeum website.
